BRAZIL DIGITAL NOMAD VISA

A way of working that seemed quite mysterious before the pandemic, is now more understood than ever – the home officers on duty say so! The idea of being a digital nomad and working anywhere in the world is already a reality, and the Brazilian government gives work visas for this category.

Brazil has started to adopt new measures and launch visas specifically to meet this remote working model. Visas for digital workers are fast and cheap.

“Digital nomad visas fill a gap in the laws for remote workers who want to spend short or extended periods abroad while working independently. These professionals can carry out their work wherever they go (generally, just needing a laptop and internet connection)”.

Brazil Tourist visa vs Brazil digital nomad visa.

If your plan is to be away for up to 3 months, the tourist visa meets your need. With few rules, it can be taken only with the air ticket and documentation that proves financial stability, health insurance, accommodation, and scheduled return.

The main difference to the digital nomad visa is the permission for longer stays, often 1 year or more.

“Remote workers only need to get a Brazil digital nomad visa if they stay longer than what is allowed on a tourist visa. In this case, they must meet the requirements of the Brazil digital nomad visa, which requires proof of funds to defray the stay.”

That does not mean you can do everything in Brazil. The visa does not allow hiring by a Brazilian company.
