Ministry of Communications authorizes fundraising of more than R $ 5.1 billion to expand internet access in the country

The Ministry of Communications (MCom) has already authorized, through the Incentive Debentures program, the raising of more than R $ 5.1 billion for investment projects in telecommunications infrastructure in all Brazilian states.

Debentures are a way of "lending" money to companies. The main difference between common and incentive debentures is the reduction or even exemption from income tax.

This form of investment is advantageous for the investor, who pays less tax, and good for the government, as it is a way to encourage private investment in infrastructure and, thus, benefit the population. Through the issuance of incentive debentures, companies can obtain resources to develop their own networks and expand their capacity to serve society.
