Government allocates more than R $ 452 million to Covid-19 Coping Centers
The Ministry of Health will transfer R $ 452.9 million to support the Community Reference Centers and Care Centers for Coping with Covid-19. The funds will benefit 2,302 establishments in 1,960 Brazilian municipalities, strengthening service in the Unified Health System (SUS).

The centers act as a gateway to the SUS, being responsible for the first attendance and identification of cases of influenza and Covid-19 syndrome, reducing the burden of emergencies and hospitals.

The transfer of the financial incentive will be made by the National Health Fund (FNS) to the Municipal Health Funds automatically and in a single installment.

"In all, the Ministry of Health transferred more than R $ 1.6 billion to the strategy, precisely because we understand the importance of supporting municipalities in the context of the health crisis, especially now, during the national immunization campaign. It is important that services work in places that are easily accessible to the population, which can be primary health care establishments or other community spaces ”, emphasized the secretary of primary health care, Raphael Parente.

Centers
Created in May 2020, the establishments are part of a set of actions designed to expand health care during the crisis caused by Covid-19 in the context of Primary Care.

Community Centers were accredited exclusively for municipalities that have communities and slums, according to the classification of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The Service Centers, available to all municipalities, act as a reference point for Primary Care in SUS.
