More than 50 thousand land title documents, between definitive and provisional, were granted to settled families and occupants of federal public areas in Pará. The symbolic delivery of the titles took place this Friday (18th), at a ceremony in Marabá (PA) , with the participation of the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, and ministers. It is the largest volume of bond delivery made so far in the country.

Over the past two years, 50,162 title documents, 47,234 of which from agrarian reform and 2,924 from occupants of federal public lands, were issued by the three regional superintendencies of the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (Incra), in Pará. Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa), is the largest number in the last 20 years in the state, which has 13 million hectares of settlement areas.

According to Incra, around 40% of the land regularization processes in the country are concentrated in Pará. Most of these processes are on small properties.

With the title in hand, it is possible to seek credit to produce on the rural property and have access to government public policies. “Along with title comes rural credit. You will have the credit to produce, have dignity, have income”, said the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Tereza Cristina.

bonds and credit
In Ilha do Marajó (PA) alone, with the delivery of 22 thousand provisional titles to the settlers, around R$ 54 million will be applied in Initial Credit. As the settlers had never received any kind of document before, this policy had not been made available.

In the last two years, the Federal Government has invested more than R$ 40 million in settlements in Pará in the various types of Initial Credit, according to Incra. One of the main modalities is Fomento Mulher, which makes available to the female public up to R$5,000 to implement productive projects.

property security
Rural producer Jonas Pereira de Souza was one of those who received the title to the land and said that he now feels secure for being able to say that he owns the property where he has lived for 25 years.

“Now, we are convinced that everything we've done belongs to us. Before, we were warned the following: you can only say that you own the land the day you get the title. For now, the land belongs to the Union. Today, we feel more secure. It's something we have, that we can leave to our children. Just as I was raised in agriculture, so were they. What I know, I passed to them. It was 25 years in the fight, but we got there”, he celebrated.

Title Brazil
The program was launched in February this year, by the Ministry of Agriculture, to make it possible for Incra and the municipalities to carry out actions aimed at serving the public with agrarian reform and land regularization. The objective is to bring more practicality to the process of titling areas of the Union.

Cities can voluntarily participate in the program. So far, 941 municipalities have applied to join the program. Of this total, 256 city halls, 43 from Pará, have already signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement (ACT) with Incra throughout Brazil.
